Machine: Bulky

Yarn: Worsted Wt. Yarn (dark blue, light blue, orange for fish)

Tension:  10

Instructions:

With dark blue CO 31-0-32 and work in 1x1 rib for 8 rows at tension 3/3 (or knit 8 rows and latch up in ribbing).

Transfer all stitches to Main Bed, MT10  RC000
Knit in dark blue for 7 rows.
Knit in wave pattern beginning on row 2 for 4 rows (Negative option selected) with dark blue in feeder A and light blue in feeder B.
Wave Pattern = 6 sts and 4 rows

      

End pattern.  Cut Dark Blue yarn.  Put Light Blue in Feeder A.
Knit in Light Blue to RC 22 or 24.
BO around gate pegs. 
Sew up center back seam and lay hat flat.  Sew up along top edge.
Make Fish “tassels” and sew securely to top corners of hat.

With Worsted wt. orange yarn and MT 5

Crochet CO 5 stitches (Tail end)
Knit 2 rows.
Dec 1 st on each side and knit 2 rows.
Inc 1 st on each side and knit 6 rows.
Dec 1 st on each side and knit 2 rows.
Transfer st from each side onto center stitch (3 stitches on 1 ndl).
Knit 2 row. (Nose end – 1 row is for front, 1 row is for back of fish)
Inc. 1 st on each side and knit 2 rows.
Inc 1 st on each side and knit 6 rows.
Dec. 1 st on each side and knit 2 rows.
Inc. 1 st on each side and knit 2 rows. (completes second tail end)
Crochet BO.  Fold in Fish half at nose and whip stitch all edges together.  Use French knot for eye on each side.  Attach yarn to nose, crochet a short chain of 3-4 stitches and attach to hat corner.
